Pope John Paul II's Statement on Vaccines using fetal cells (2005)
When I first began giving vaccines in the early 2000s I was concerned when I discovered the use of fetal tissue in vaccine production. Our chaplain (Catholic) referred me to this paper by Pope John Paul II really cleared that up for me (and I'm not even Catholic). I have posted it below. My summary would be: It is morally reprehensible to use the tissue of children murdered in abortion to produce vaccines The use of those existing vaccines does not equate to moral acceptance of this practice because: It could take a long period (10 years?) to create a new vaccine for something like Rubella A complete cessation of the vaccine would leave many children exposed and more children would die.
